ISI Registration

Indian Standards Institute (ISI) was set up back when India got Independence to maintain standards of commercial production. Later, it was replaced by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Although the Certification mark ISI remain unreplaced. Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) offers an ISI Marking scheme for all products covered under the Mandatory List. ISI mark is a quality mark used to depict the grade for company products in India. Every product which put this mark reflects the trust and safety of the product.

The ISI Certification mark or ISI Registration is given to the industrial items including goods/articles/process/systems or services etc. and the mark indicates that the said item is adhering to the standard given by the Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS), which is the national standard body of India. Taking the ISI Registration for some items is voluntary but there are more than 346 products for which taking the ISI Registration is compulsory as per the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016, and without getting ISI Registration for those products the manufacturer will not be able to sell them in market.

These processes have the same steps that are IS Applicability, documentation, application submission, inspection, and grant of license. The only difference between a simplified procedure and a normal procedure is that the simplified procedure has an extra step which is testing. And the timing for testing depends on the product for which you have applied.
